| Antique Oak | | Antique Oak floorboards are generally reclaimed in a variety of widths, thicknesses and lengths. The general condition can vary considerably and most batches require some re-engineering and processing to create a layable flooring option. The secret to this is to protect and retain the antique patination built up over the centuries. It is this original and antique surface which gives these lines a totally unique quality and an individual end result. The finished colour and degree of patination or rusticity can be adjusted within the finishing process whilst depth of colour and quality of finish is infinitely variable, we suggest you avoid the use of heavy duty floor sanders and adopt a process of sympathetically processing individual boards to maximise the natural character. A range is available as well as machining to specification. |
| | | Reclaimed Strip | | Reclaimed strip flooring is generally salvaged from industrial buildings, mills, school halls and municipal offices throughout the UK. Generally the timbers available are English Oak, Karri and Jarrah (eucalyptus), Rhodesian and Burmese Teak, Keruing, Olive and Canadian Maple. The format is random lengthed, tongue and grooved strips that are secret nailed with the fixings applied through the tongues. Most will require a light sanding and refinishing and will enhance both domestic or commercial installations. |

| Parquet | | Parquet flooring is a speciality of The Antique Oak Flooring Company and we are able to supply an extensive range of traditional parquet flooring. The most common types of timber used for parquet flooring are of Oak and Pine but we can provide a wide variety of exotic parquet flooring blocks. Typically associated with Victorian and Edwardian properties, woodblock or parquet flooring is usually laid in classic herringbone fashion but other patterns can be also be equally as effective.
Our wide range of parquet flooring lends itself to period restorations and contemporary installations alike. Parquet flooring is labour intensive to fit and therefore it is not uncommon for installation fees to outweigh the cost of the parquet flooring itself. We always recommend that an experienced installer is used, who will use their skills to provide you with a truly amazing floor. |
